30 Day Manga Challenge: Day 9 - Your Favorite Science-Fiction Manga

Talking about sci-fi, my brain will always lead me to Gundam Wing, but then I have never read any good Gundam Wing manga. I have been obsessed with GW since I was 10 and I knew sister Hilde and Father Maxwell from fics I read, crazy yeah? Not much of devoted I am, I don't even have gundam or whatever (but I promise someday I'll own a Deatscythe model kit), I just read a lot of gundam wing fanfictions. Just like the time when I was so obsessed with Draco Malfoy Harry Potter because I read its fanfiction, pffft. Even now I am not interested yet to read prequel manga of Gundam Wing. And so, my choice for day 9 is 7 Seeds by Tamura Yumi. 

It was hard to start reading this, really. I always see the artwork first in reading manga and 7 seed's artwork is unappealling. At first. It's then acceptable as I found the story was quite mindblowing and mesmerizing and heart-wrenching. Story about survival is always sad, most of the time.

Kak Shinta had to convince me, even when she knew I hated this kind of shoujo-ish artwork, that 7 seeds is worth my time. I needed like forever to finally read this, and when I got totally hooked, I needed only few days to finish 19 volumes of 7 seeds, that's when a manga is freaking good you just can't stop :3 

Artwork aside, the plot is amazing, the universe Tamura Yumi created in this manga is scary but mesmerizing, and the dynamic relationship among characters is well written. Too bad it's not completed yet. I have to make my brain think that this manga does not exist. Waiting for the next volume to finally get published here is a pain.

I don't even remember his name. Too naive for a special force cop :3 I don't know why I find this guy annoying, Hyogo is naive too, but I think he is an execption :p

30 Day Manga Challenge: Day 7 - A manga you disliked enough to stop reading

THERE ARE LOTS.

I have been reading manga since I was 10. Sure it was late, but hey, I couldn't even buy my own manga until I was 15. It is hard to have expensive hobby, y'know. And I read a lot of manga, from shoujo to seinen, I lost count of how many manga I dislike enough to stop reading.

I mostly borrow manga I read from Asri (a library) or friends so it is not a big deal if I hate it and then stop reading. But I have two mangas which I bought two years ago and just plainly dislike it. This one, from 3L publisher, I don't know if they are legal or not now in Indonesia, I always think they are illegal publisher, but then I bought this in Gramedia, super big bookstore in Indonesia.

Otokonoko Zukan 

Boys are silly, sex-hungry, and naughty. This book studies boys, living creatures totally different from girls, in detail, to answer questions about boys and their behaviors.

I thought it'd be friendship-slash-bromance kind of manga. It's just not my cup of tea /weeps

I learned the hard way, I bought it when I was just a poor college student, never bought anything from 3L never judge manga by its cover!

See how adorable that little brat? Can't you resist him?

I have been obsessed with Monkey King since I was little kid, can't be helped. And too bad Saiyuki probably will never be published in Indonesia :|  

30 Day Manga Challenge: Day 5 - Your favorite horror manga(s)

Not a fan of this genre, but these two are pretty mind blowing and the first one always scared the life out of me, I never read Ghost Hunt at night, well, once, but I learnt not to do that again. And I often find my self covering my eyes when I read Shingeki no Kyojin. 

The first one has been published in Indonesia, hopefully Shingeki sould be published by Level comics (soon).

30 Day Manga Challenge: Day 02 - Your favorite manga(s)

It's hard to choose one manga I really love because I read too many mangas. I pick the on-going ones~

- Otoyomegatari (Indonesian Edition: The Bride's Stories): Take traditional marriage aside, it's beautifully drawn, very detailed and the stories themselves can make me melt
- Saiyuki: Well, I have been a fan of Sun Go Kong since I was just a little kid. Besides, Minekura made them very beautiful \(//∇//)\
- Genshiken: Just too damn funny. I wouldn't call my self otaku or fujoshi, but still....
- Wild Adapter: Minekura-sensei's manga again, can't help it, as slow placed as it is, Wild Adapter hits right here *point my kokoro*
- Naruto: Oh well...it's one of three first fandoms (Saiyuki, Gundam Wings, Naruto) I've been stuck with since forever. I am just that loyal (╯_╰)

Asal comot aja gambarnya dari bakaupdate, males nyari yang sesuai dengan yang ada di ingatan. Saya bukan dari keluarga yang punya banyak buku, waktu kecil mungkin cuman ada Al-Quran aja satu-satunya buku di rumah (selain buku sekolah SD saya loh). Dan semua manga yang saya baca ini pinjam dari teman saya, namanya Indri. Kira-kira baru kelas 4 atau 5 SD saya baca manga, setelah saya jatuh cinta dengan Duo Maxwell Gundam Wing ;)

- Doraemon: well, mainstream anak '90 Indo lah ya, saya gak inget baca volume berapa
- Dragon Ball: Android 17 FTW! (arc itu yang pertama saya baca)
- Detective Conan: Klo gak salah yang pertama saya baca adalah kasus cewek yang nyamar jadi orang tua.
- Kindaichi: dulu saya suka banget, lalu saya gak suka, dan sekarang lupa (*/ω＼*)
